How to Choose an AI Image Model for Your Task
Choose an AI image model by input, reference-image limits, resolution and output needs. Compare the options available in OVOV and start with a practical prompt.

Choose an AI image model by the job you need to finish: the material you have, the changes you want, and the size you need to deliver. Start with one representative image at a lower resolution. Check the composition and details before spending credits on a larger version.
This guide describes the controls and limits available in OVOV's AI image generator as of October 29, 2026. It is a guide to the current product configuration, rather than a benchmark or a claim that one model produces better pictures for every prompt. The generator shows the available settings and current credit quote before you submit.
Start with the input you actually have
For an idea without source material, use text-to-image. Describe the subject, setting, composition and visual treatment. For an existing product photo, character or layout, use image-to-image with a model that accepts reference images. State both what should stay and what should change.
Reference capacity matters when several inputs serve different roles. A product photo, a packaging detail and a composition reference are three separate inputs; adding ten similar pictures may introduce conflicting instructions without helping the result. Start with the smallest useful set and assign each image a clear purpose in the prompt.
Compare the limits that affect your task
| Model in OVOV | Resolution choices | Image-to-image reference limit | A reason to consider it |
|---|---|---|---|
| GPT Image 2.5 | 1K, 2K, 4K | Up to 4 | You need generation or editing with a small reference set and several output sizes. |
| GPT Image 2 | 1K, 2K, 4K, with ratio constraints | Up to 16 | Your editing brief requires more than four source images. |
| Nano Banana 2.1 | 1K, 2K, 4K | Up to 14 | You need multiple references or one of its unusually wide or tall ratios. |
| Seedream 5.0 Pro | 1.5K, 2K | Up to 10 | Your delivery fits its resolution range and you want another model to compare with the same brief. |
| Wan 2.7 | 1K, 2K | Up to 9 | You need generation or editing and do not require a 4K output option. |
These are upload and output limits in OVOV, not promises of exact identity, perfect lettering or identical results between runs. A higher reference limit does not make a model automatically better. Also check the selected aspect ratio: GPT Image 2 does not offer every ratio at every resolution.
Build a prompt you can evaluate
Use one concrete task. This example is for a product-image concept; replace the subject and dimensions with your own requirements:
Create a vertical 4:5 product photograph for a reusable water bottle. Place one matte blue bottle on a pale stone surface, with soft window light from the left. Keep the upper third clear for a headline that I will add later. No extra products, hands or lettering. Show the bottle cap and base fully inside the frame.
For editing, add explicit preservation instructions:
Use the first uploaded image as the product reference. Keep the bottle silhouette, cap shape and blue color. Replace only the background with a pale stone surface. Keep the product centered and leave space above it. Do not add a new logo or change the label text.
Leaving final typography for a layout editor is often more controllable than asking a generated image to deliver a complete, exact legal label or long paragraph. If text must appear inside the image, quote the wording and check every character in the output.
Check a draft before increasing resolution
Review the whole image first, then zoom into the parts that matter. Is the subject complete? Are product details consistent with the reference? Are there unwanted objects, extra fingers or misspelled words? Does the composition leave space for your actual crop and headline?
Change one part of the brief at a time. If the bottle shape is wrong, simplify the references or clarify that requirement before changing lighting, background and model together. To compare models, keep the prompt, source material and aspect ratio as similar as their controls allow. Record which settings you used; repeated generation can vary even with the same brief.
Confirm the delivery and credit quote
4K is an option on some image models, not a site-wide guarantee. A larger image can help with a larger deliverable, but it does not automatically fix inaccurate objects or text. Select the aspect ratio for the final placement and inspect a draft before requesting the larger output.
Credits depend on the selected model and settings. Check the live quote in the generator and use the pricing page to compare ways to buy credits. The number of credits available after registration is shown in your account; this guide does not assume a fixed trial allowance.
If the image will become a video
Leave enough room around the subject for motion and framing. Avoid an edge crop that cuts off the feature you later want to animate. Prepare a clean first frame, then follow the photo-to-video guide to choose a video model and describe one clear movement.
